It’s almost December! It feels like we were just lamenting the end of summer and the beginning of fall. The rain has come, the weather is getting colder, lights are up on the plaza, all of our stores are decorated in their holiday finest and the Mezzanine staff in Paddington Station has started serving their famous Wassail.
We would like to thank everyone who came to our Open House, especially those of you who brought a canned good or purchased extra raffle tickets. We are happy to say that we donated hundreds of pounds of non perishable food and were able to give them a sizeable donation to help them through the holidays. Our Open House was a huge success, thanks to all of you! We will be posting pictures from the event and videos of the incredibly talented musicians who came and entertained us all- so check our our Facebook page!
We survived Black Friday and Small Business Saturday! We had several amazing specials and Gift With Purchases and were happy to see several of our reusable tote bags walking through town! Every Saturday until Christmas, (or as long as supplies last!) we will be giving our sturdy and attractive reusable tote bags out with any purchase. If you missed our specials, you are in luck!! We are extending a few of our specials until we run out. We have Mrs. Britt’s knit socks (regular price $5.95) and holiday tea towels (regular price $5.95) that are still 3 for $10 AND our wonderful sherpa throws for $19.99 (regular price $39.99)! We just added more to our specials- we also have soft and luxurious robes for $19.99 and minky fleece pajama sets for $14.99!!! These throws, robes and pajamas are soft and warm, come down and experience the magic for yourself!!
This year, we are partnering with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) and are a Giving Tree location. CASA’s purpose is to provide a voice in the court system for children who are abused or neglected. The Giving Tree is a way for the community to come together and show these children that someone cares about them- especially during the holiday season. Decorating our staircase leading to our lower level, we have several cards hanging from the garland. Each card has the Christmas gift wish for a special child or an envelope for a monetary donation. Come by, pick up a card, return with the card, a new, unwrapped gift and help make Christmas special for a child who needs your support.
What more will the holiday season bring for us? This Bear isn’t sure, but cannot wait to see what else the Hammond Family has in store for us!
